Reverse planning is a planning method I learned from my Marine Corps days. It was planning from the hour of the objective backwards, so you could see exactly what you needed to get done to accomplish your mission.
So here’s the plan for this weekend:
0500: National Mall Run
0430-0445: Transit to national Mall
0430: Run ready (dressed, liquids applied, gear on hand)
0400: Reiville and breakfast
2300 (11:00 p.m. EST): Taps (bedtime)
2259-1800: Dinner and free time
1800-1600: Route recon (find the quickest path to the National Mall)
1600-1500: Check in to hotel and get gear squared away for tomorrow
1500-1300: Travel from Lexington Park to DC
1300-1200: Lunch/Third Eye Comics
1200-1100: Finish packing
1000-1030: Circuit course
0900-1000: Blog, pick up laundry, buy travel stuff, get hotel address
BTW: In military time, 0001-1200 is midnight to noon. Add 100 to each hour after 1200 for afternoon/evening times. 1:00 is 1300, 2:00 is 1400, etc.
Song of the Day: “Ship of Fools” by World Party (12″ version is highly recommended) and “Genius of Love” by Tom Tom Club (get the 12″ version of this as well).
Gotta go! Talk to you tomorrow!
